From Stockinette to Sensational
A Creative Sweater Modification Workshop
Service Description
If you're looking to add some creative touches to your basic stockinette sweater, then this is the workshop for you! Some of the easiest places to add design elements, such as cables, colorwork, or lace, are the sleeves and main body (below the upper yoke)--so that's where we'll focus our efforts. We'll begin by brainstorming different design elements before we dive into the gauge math to make our modifications a reality. This will be a live Zoom session taught by Melissa from knittingthestash. She has taught a number of online knitting classes via Teachable and loves to get creative with sweaters! Click the link to register. Registration is limited to 20 students. Students will receive a free, basic pullover pattern and other handouts during the Zoom session in June. Materials: Students can bring a 4" x 4" swatch for their upcoming sweater project and additional yarn if they would like to swatch during class. A pad of paper, pencil, and basic calculator will also be helpful. We'll use a few online stitch dictionaries during class, but you may also want to refer to stitch dictionaries from your local library or private collection. This online workshop is affiliated with the Central New York Fiber Festival, June 11-12, 2022, but anyone--near or far--can join in the fun by signing up for the session.
